Confederation of Indian Textile Industry (CITI), the apex textile and clothing industry chamber, has asked the prime minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, to stop export of cotton temporarily till December and at the same time remove the 10 per cent customs duty and the additional customs duty of 4 per cent on import of cotton as immediate measures to stem the domestic cotton prices.
